I'm a Javascript and Python developer, sound artist and tech enthusiast

I explore the intersection of art and technology through sound synthesis, electronics and programming

Bonjour

I'm Coppélia LaRoche-Francoeur, a developer, sound artist and tech consultant with a focus on blending art and technology. This approach has shaped my work in digital music, IoT, web development and cultural organization management.

My coding world revolves around Python and JavaScript, with a strong focus on database, web, embedded programming and electronic. I'm deeply passionate about sound synthesis, electronics and creative coding, always fascinated by the physics of sound waves.

Beyond tech and art, I’m committed to queer and feminist communities. Since 2015, I’ve been part of Festival Filministes, a space dedicated to showcasing films by and about women, trans, and non-binary people, fostering discussions on feminist and queer issues through cinema.

Coding

With a background in JavaScript and Python development, I specialize in software development, embedded programming (IoT) and database management. Over the past five years, I have worked on web and digital project creation, while also gaining seven years of team management experience.

My expertise spans front-end, back-end and embedded systems, where I develop scalable, high-performance applications tailored to complex digital environments. I work with React.js, Node.js, Django and Wagtail, with experience in REST API development, asynchronous programming (AJAX, Fetch, WebSockets) and cloud-based data storage (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, AWS, Firebase). My work in embedded systems and IoT includes MQTT protocols, microcontrollers (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Daisy Seed) and TensorFlow for AI-driven edge computing.

Recently, my focus has been on creating sound control interfaces, where art and technology intersect. Programming serves as a medium for creativity, exploration and expression. By merging technical precision with artistic experimentation, I build immersive and interactive systems that push the boundaries of both fields.

Music & sounds

A deep curiosity about the physics of sound shapes my approach to sound synthesis, electronics and programming. While studying digital music at UdeM, I spent several years as a DJ, exploring the emotional depth of sound and the way frequencies move through space.

I experiment with additive synthesis, weaving together waves to sculpt rich, complex tones that evolve like organic textures. Every frequency shift, harmonic layer and modulation becomes a brushstroke in an ever-changing sonic canvas. Beyond composition, my work delves into sound design and sonification, where images, data and abstract patterns are reimagined as immersive soundscapes.

By integrating APIs and databases to transform data into sound, I love to explore how we can hear what was once only seen, turning contrast into harmony, motion into rhythm and color into timbre for exemple. This approach challenges traditional perception, dissolving the boundaries between sight and sound, data and music, technology and expression.
